Porous Ceramic Tube

Porous Ceramic Tube
Details:
Porous Ceramic Tube is a cylindrical ceramic component with a three-dimensional interconnected microporous network, designed for filtration, separation, or gas diffusion applications—its core raw materials are high-refractory aggregates such as alumina, silicon carbide, or quartz, mixed with binders and pore-forming agents, as outlined in its manufacturing standards. The production process involves mixing these raw materials into a homogeneous paste, shaping it into a tubular form via methods like extrusion or slip casting, then sintering it at high temperatures.

Porous Ceramic Tube is a cylindrical ceramic component with a three-dimensional interconnected microporous network, designed for filtration, separation, or gas diffusion applications-its core raw materials are high-refractory aggregates such as alumina, silicon carbide, or quartz, mixed with binders and pore-forming agents, as outlined in its manufacturing standards. The production process involves mixing these raw materials into a homogeneous paste, shaping it into a tubular form via methods like extrusion or slip casting, then sintering it at high temperatures. This sintering process fuses the aggregates while the pore-forming agents burn off, creating the uniform microporous structure that is central to its functionality.

Key technical parameters of product, as specified in its product data, include a controllable pore size range (from several microns to hundreds of microns, adjusted based on application needs), a porosity of 30%-60% (striking a balance between filtration efficiency and structural strength), and excellent resistance to high temperatures, acids, alkalis, and thermal shock. These properties make it the core component of diesel particulate filters (DPF) in diesel engine exhaust aftertreatment systems-an application critical for meeting strict environmental regulations.

In DPF systems, Porous Ceramic Tube uses a wall-flow design: exhaust gas is forced to pass through the porous tube walls, where carbon soot particles are trapped with an efficiency of over 95%. During periodic regeneration (a process that burns off trapped soot), the tube can withstand local temperatures of up to 1000℃ without cracking, thanks to its thermal shock resistance. Its service life is equivalent to that of the vehicle, reaching over 800,000 kilometers-far longer than alternative filter materials. For automotive manufacturers and operators of heavy-duty diesel vehicles, Porous Ceramic Tube is an indispensable component that ensures compliance with emissions standards while maintaining engine performance and reliability.
